Gulf Coast Economics Association

Welcome to the Gulf Coast Economics Association. We are instructors and university professors at community colleges and undergraduate institutions that share a common goal. We want to improve our craft by interacting with others who share the same passion and fervor as we do.

Our major effort is to offer the annual Gulf Coast Economics Teaching Conference. This year the Seventh Annual Economics Teaching Conference will be hosted in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 27th - 28th, 2011. See our Conference page for details and announcements regarding our keynote speakers. In the past we have featured major speakers such as Greg Mankiw, John Taylor, Alan Blinder, Paul Romer, Michael Cox, Bob McTeer, Steven Tomlinson and a whole host of other high profile speakers. We average over 85 attendees at each conference with teacher coming in from as far away as Alaska, New York and even Canada. The conference features concurrent break-out sessions by faculty members from all across the country including teachers from community colleges and four-year universities.

An electronic brochure for the conference will be ready soon. Return here soon for updated information.

Click the media roll below to listen to the keynote speakers from the Fourth Annual conference as well as selected break-out presentations:
